Everybody is posting overlays that use double sided tape to stick on

The threadstarter was asking for OEM type replacement pieces. DDQuach was claiming to have had exactly that, and I could have sworn he posted a pic of the piece before he installed it. Maybe sometime this year he will actually show some of us. That sure would be nice of him

Have you seen the kits that use double sided tape??? 99.99% of people sitting in the car would have no idea it is an overlay. The quality and fitment is certainly up to Lexus standards. The overlay is not some sort of flimsy plastic film, it is a rigid piece. Once installed it doesn't move, squeak or lift, it becomes part of the console and light switches. I've had mine on for about 10 months with absolutely no problems. If someone absolutely needs to have OEM parts go ahead, but they will be frightfully expensive.

The overlays just don't look quite right to me, like they don't fit perfectly.
I wish I could get the real pieces of CF.

Sure have. Not my style. I don't like them. If you look at those pics of the Carlson that someone posted, a guy like me can tell that it's sticking up, etc. It just looks tacky, to me. I'm not ******* anyone that buys them, I would just not be able to live with it every day.

More Japan sells a product called "magical carbon" that is an adhesive film that is made from real carbonfiber. This is the real deal and you really would have to take your time to install, I would think it would look better than some cheesy over-lay kit.
