Default Work while driving?

Hey i was wondering if the Lexus iphone kit works while driving? Like can you navigate through the artist/album folders while you are driving? Or is it like the CD/MP3 control where the car has to be still before you can navigate throughout the mp3 folder???

thanks in advance!

I tried to post in swap meet but couldnt get 'er done since I am just a lurker and dont have enough posts...

I took mine out because I opted for the XM and you cant do both with Lexus parts...

I am selling the iPod adapter for $140 shipped to lower 48.

Bringing back this thread up since I just installed this kit yesterday. Surprisingly Pandora works with this kit or any other audio Apps with iOS that supports audio thru dock connector. I'm glad I got this kit over Viastech.

I just spoke with someone at McGrath Lexus in Westmont and I was quoted $450 installed. That includes the part and labor.

This kit is really easy to install. You should just buy it off of Sewell and install it yourself. Save some money on the install!

I'm not all that mechanically inclined and I'm terrified of tearing the car up.

After reading this whole thread and 4 years after this kit was launched I still don't know if the Lexus kit is the one to get. I could find a few more
http://www.gtacarkits.com/lexus_is_2...11_car_kit.php
http://www.multimedialinq.com/dev/vml.php
http://gromaudio.com/store/usb_adapt....html#warranty

Aside from using a different method of accessing the ipod/iphone, ( SAT vs CD changer), is there any comparison of which one would be best? In my mind ipod interface is nice to have but a USB connection would be even better.

I do not have nav or XM radio on my 07 IS250. Any info appreciated

I ended up buying a used OEM Toyota interface (PT545-00082). It replaces the XM Radio and it can be accessed via the SAT option on center console. Sound is very good and I hope to get used to the way you search for/ play music. Installation took about 2 hours because I took time to clean up the center console thoroughly. Attached are the instructions that are also very good as a step by step on removing the center console ( which is super easy BTW) and the user manual for it.
Happy camper
