There is a couple of people on the Forum that has installed them.

Simply cut a hole in the fender, and tap the wires to one of the blinkers and your done!

No it's not plug n play.

Nope, they are not obliged to. It's not something that came standard in the U.S.

You might be able to pay them to do the work, if you know someone that works at the dealer. But you can equally pay a tuner shop to do it. Tuner shops usually has more experience installing side markers (i.e. measuring the distance and cutting the hole in the fender).

I got them and love them! They match the blinker in the headlights! But there is no female plug for these so dont try to look cause I already did. You have to tap 2 wires.

I'm trying to shave unnecessary items from my car e.g. sidemarkers, antennas, emblems, wings, etc.

You are trying to add things on. Sidemarkers are very, forgive my term, "ricey." I would expect it on a Honda, but a Lexus? Come on!

To each his own.

How is it ricey? Please don't use the term "rice", it has been blown way out of proportion. Personally for me, I prefer sidemarkers. It's a very good safety feature IMO. Especially since almost NO ONE pays attention to your rear blinkers, and almost no one can see the front. Blinkers on the mirror is also a good alternative, but requires more work to have these installed and make it look good and proper. Short of getting it from Factory.

Of course to each his own, I see it as a safety feature. Very useful in California. Granted no one lets you into the lane, but still.

Are you also implying that Lexus of Japan and almost every other country they ship the IS to is "ricing" their cars? Except of course North America! It is an excellent safety feature,...that's why most European and Asian manufactures install them on their cars.

I agree with you 100%!! Its such a big safety feature for me, it gives me piece of mind knowing someone on my side can see me switching lanes.

shern - And dont even start with the RICE thing. You obviously dont even know the term. Yes to each its own. But if it was RICE why would Lexus make it?
