Oh man, here we go with "rice" semantics. If it came from the factory with sidemarkers, it would obviously not be "rice." To add them on, well, that's "rice."

Be honest with yourself please. Are you truly putting sidemarkers on your car because you're concerned about safety? Or are you putting sidemarkers on your cars for aesthetics and to be different? Please be honest. I see you have "JDM Junkie" in your sig. Is putting sidemarkers on making you more JDM because Japanese IS's come with them from the factory. Please be honest.

The majority of cars on the road in the US don't have sidemarkers because our traffic patterns are much different than you see in Japan. How many USDM cars have sidemarkers?

Like I said, To Each His Own. Do what you like. Just remember, you're cutting metal. Be careful.

First of all just because Im a JDM junky doesnt mean I buy my parts cause its JDM, is it my fault I want the best and they happen to fit the best? No, its not. And Im not cutting metal, my body shop does a hell of a job. And YES I DID GET IT FOR THE SAFETY REASON. And would you really like me to list how many cars have sidemarkers?? Cause I can Im at work and I have time. BTW FYI, youre the one that brought of the whole RICE semantics, not us.

I love rice, steamed rice and basmati rice are my favorite!

side markers are a good alternative to side view mirror indicators.

I have them on my car. I pay 100dls for a bodyshop to do the holes, 60dls for the sidemarkers. I did all the wiring installation so it was free!!! So total I pay 160dls!!

You are trying to add things on. Sidemarkers are very, forgive my term, "ricey." I would expect it on a Honda, but a Lexus? Come on!

To each his own.
I think many people have lost the meaning or doesnt know the meaning of "rice"

RICE:
More contemporary use of the term rice burner, along with the prefix rice, has taken on an alternate pejorative meaning for an automobile that has been modified to give impression of high performance, but does not necessarily have any high-performance capabilities. This practice is in direct contrast to the "stealth" or "sleeper" style of automotive modification, where a vehicle may have major performance modifications, but the appearance remains similar to that of a stock model. In this manner, the appellation can apply to any vehicle regardless of country of origin. The most commonly modified cars are sport compacts, but the term can apply to any class of vehicle, including trucks.

After reading the meaning I dont think sidemarkers are "rice"

In no way is sidemarkers rice. I'm pretty dissapointed that the US version didn't get them or mirror signals.
