Default Quick questions - rims and subwoofer

1. I feel like 19" rims look great on the ISx50, but if I get 20's, will the fender gap be further diminished to the point that I can avoid getting springs to lower the ride height an inch?

2. What kind and size are the 2 small factory subs in the rear deck? Can they be replaced with something better without adding onto the factory system and putting a true external amp and sub in a box in the trunk?

Thanks for the input.

1.20"s will fill in ur gap in the wheel well better than the 19"s but it also depends on what size tire u buy. i would recommend 235/35/20 if u are not goinig to lower.

2. I believe there 8" subs. thats as much as i know. On my GS400 i replaced the factory sub in the rear deck so i bet you can replace the ones in the IS.

do u have Mark Lev or factory?

Thanks for the replies.

I have the factory system (non-Mark Lev) and I'd like to know if anyone has swapped out only the factory sub (speaker only) to an aftermarket one and had any success. I have plenty of experience with building boxes and doing add-ons to stock stereos, I'm just not interested in having a box in the trunk at all.

Has anyone simply swapped out the factory sub drivers for aftermarket ones?

Hmm, 20's and no lower might give a sky jacked 4x4 kind of look. Especially if you don't have any kit/lip. I think 19s with a subtle drop look the best but there are plenty of people rocking 20s that still look good.
