Default Fog light watts question

Hey, I just installed nokya 8500k 80w bulbs on my fog lights for my car and was wonderin if I should take them off because I've been readin that its bad to have such high wattage? Thanks.

it can melt the harness if the watts are rated higher than the oem bulb. it happened to my accord. even with a power adaptor that piggy backs off the battery to give it more juice, it still melted.

My Nokya 2500k are 70w and i've had no problems and i'm not willing to plug in nething higher.

Lexus (as well as other higher end vehicles) has a higher tolerance for heat/current in the wires they use. For the piece of mind I wouldn't. If you don't want to take them out just don't use them that much.

Also, im looking at a set of 2500k halogens w/ a draw of 55W & output of 150W. Will this be of any concern for me regarding the high wattage output (ie will it melt the harness)?

IIRC stock fogs are 55W

You should be fine with that. What they mean is that the bulb only draws 55W but the output (brightness) will look like if you have a 150W bulb.
