What if you were driving and as you were going about 45, you accidently put your car into the reverse gear? Im sure people have done this on accident and i was just curious if you guys know?

Happened to me in a 1991 saturn when i was in college going back to MN from south padre spring break. going 70!!! heard a loud noise, car drove fine, till i tried to back it out!! no reverse!! expensive bill. lesson learned

isnt there a safety feature that you need to press the press to change into gear?? well any ways if there isnt you'll probably just mess up the gear like 350ripper example

Ya with a car of this class, I would think that there would be some safety feature that wouldnt allow the gear to change or something until you are at low speeds???

In Acuras the reverse gear locks when you go over 6mph which I thought Lexus would do something of that nature.

I am pretty sure you will strip the gears, I did that on my first car ,and lets say the car never drove the same again.
