Default Stock Ipod Integration

I'm not sure if any of you have heard but toyota has finally released an ipod integration from the dealership. It costs $300 from toyota and I called to get an install. They referred me to Lexus and said it will cost $500. He said they use ILink. I asked if I could buy the part and just have them install it and he declined. Does anyone know anything about this? Here is the link...

I just called Longo toyota and they said that if your IS has a satellite button then what they have will work and it costs $219. He said that its from a company named Group47. He sounded unsure of some of my questions which leads me to believe that it is very new. I have been pondering getting the Vaistech but this may be better.

This is Sewell's. I'm not sure who actually makes it but it's the official Toyota/Lexus integration kit. Even though it said it fits the GS, it does fit the IS as well.

well i think its point less really... we have the aux plug. its basically standard on all cars now.. the only reason i would ever get thatf or my IS is to make it so that my plug doesnt go through the middle compartment.

Yea but the AUX does not let you control your ipod through the nav screen....

Well, here is the link. they just put it up during the last 30 min. The rep said that it will be able to play through the navigation but the volume only on the steering wheel. I think i am going to get it tonight.

Ok, I bought the ipod integration and installed it. It works through the satellite not the cd like the vaistech. You can browse album ,artist, playlist, and songs. One of my playlists holds 375 songs. I have pictures if anyone would like for mr to post them. It cost $219 total. I put it through my glove as well. I havent found out if you can shuffle songs either. I need more time to play with it. Also the up and down buttons on the steering wheel are useless but volume woks. Navi is fully functional as well.

I have been using this for the last 18 months

http://www.diceelectronics.com/ipod_integration.htm

This allows me to use the all the sterring wheel controls...bought it more 160 and had installed in a local stero shop for 90. All in for 250 and it works great...

Man I wish this was cheaper. I really miss being able to use the screen to control my ipod. I've already almost gotten into accidents trying to change a damn song. Lately I've just been making mp3 cd's, but it's not the same

Oh well, I guess one gripe is nothing compared to how many more awesome features this car has over my old car.
