I saw that the LS600hl has this function.
I know the LS and the IS both have the 5th generation navigation system so what's stopping the IS from having this feature as well?

The IS does not have the same Nav hardware as the LS. Although both share the same nav system generation, that does not mean the hardware is the same.
I've tried. There is no retrofit for the IS at this time...
