I was washing the car today and noticed on the top of the car, towards the front center (front of the sunroof), there appears to be a small divot or dent. It's looks center so I was wondering if this is normal? So if you are looking at your car from the outside, look at your rear view mirror and go back towards the roof center (in front of the sunroof). This is the location but you can only see the dent if you stand on the side of the car. You can't see this in the shade, you have to be outside. Anyway, let me know if this is normal and I will probably go by the dealership and check out other IS and check if it's there.

 

I have 2 small dents up there heh. I noticed them a while back but didnt think anything of it.

 

Not normal. Your roof should be flat.

 

Also my car is obsidian and I am not sure if this dent would be noticieable as much on a lighter car. So those with darker cars, check it out,

I have no dents up there and I have obsidian too.... Its not normal as mine is perfectly flat... Do you recall anything falling on it? Say in the garage or somewhere?

 

Nope nothing fell on it that I know of. Again it looks centered

 

I dont have an IS, but a GS and mine has a little bit of waviness around the sunroof. I dont know where it came from but looks like something to do with the sunroof.

 

Yea really weird. I will go by dealership tomorrow and check out others on the lot.

Tried but it doesn't catch the dent

 

the dent may have occured when the car was being washed; put hand on roof and put full body weight on hand as someone stretched to wipe roof.

 

That's kinda hard to do when it's towards the center. Here's a pic I tired and you can look at where the reflection of the roofline is bent.

 

Also, I am sure that dent wizard can take this out but last time I had them do that on my driver's side door of my BMW, I hear wind noise inside the car when driving with all windows up. Do you think they can take this out without having to take apart the interior roof?
