My IS is totaled

Had you read his latest two posts, you would have read that he was going 50 MPH (the posted speed limit) when he hydroplaned and lost control. So, what makes you the physics expert to make such a bold assessment?
your whole outlook on life will now change, mine did thou not cuz of a car accident, waimea bay bodysurfing on a 15' foot day (old measuring means 30' face) then huge 45' face waves started commin in, held me down at the bottom and as soon as i came up, exhale and BOOM another and im back at the bottom...over n over...
Glad the OP is ok and also at 50 , yes i could see his car fliipping Still wondering if you head the vdim on or off.
He never said he was going 50. He said the posted speed limit was 50.
damn, reminds me of my first car. my 05 Mazda 6 got totaled as well. Some girl pulled out off the shoulder forcing me to tbone her and I flew across 3 lanes of oncomming traffic goin atleast 60mph went up the curb off the fire hydrant and smashed and flew under a pickup truck. my car was bent to ridiculous measures and my bumpers were also ripped off and all glass broken but I too walked away with minor injuries. Just a little burns from the airbags and the nerves in both legs are messed up giving them a numb feeling but I can still walk and run. Just hurts a little to jump from high places.
Dude sorry to see the pics. Really glad u r ok though. Like many have said it's just a car can be replaced. And u said only blocks from home. most happen within a mile from home. Be a little more cautious next time.
Indeed, it doesn't take that much water to lose control. I was walking my dog a few years back when I heard a crash. Rounded the corner and saw this. Kid was going too fast for wet roads, slid into curb which "tripped" his car, causing it to flip. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened to the OP too.
Depending on how tight the corner was and the speed...doesnt take a whole lot of water to get a car to step out of line. If he hit anything once the car is sliding around (curb or ditch) the car could easily flip. I have been an eyewitness to a car flip on a residential. Some moron tried to pass one car and didn't see that the car they were passing was slowing for a car backing out of a driveway. So the driver that was passing (maybe less than 30 mph) swereved and hit the curb and rolled his car. This was on a dry road, BTW.
So is the IS unsafe on wet roads? I'm trying to learn from posts like this so it doesn't happen to the next person or me. Should we be more caution about driving through wet roads or is this a unusual occurance. I believe his story but man, the IS flipped several times from sprinkler water. Thats like scary man.
Could there have been oil from the road mixed with the water? Were you running stock tires or diff brand?
