Radar Detectors
i been using the V1 one for bout 6 months now and when i have it on there is no such thing is speed limit
, anyway concerning bout hiding the wire i plug my v1 into the outlet in the middle armrest and run it to the glove box and then behind the glove box and up to ceiling and run to the rear mirror. ohh almost forgot i put mind as high as i could because radar serve as a receiver and the higher it is mounter the better and faster it can pick it signal, that was what i was told and it make sense with me.

Hey guys. I have had both and I am telling you that my escort 8500 x50 is better then my v1 was. Better in the sense that it doesn't false alert as much. I liked both, so don't get me wrong. I think one more thing I like about my escort is that its blue. Just kind of looks cooler.
If you have more then 200.00 (which is the price on craigslist for either radar) You can go big baller with the escort 9500. It has gps to make where a false positive is and remembers that location the next time you drive by it. If the signal is the same frequency it wont go off, however if a cop all the sudden decided he was going to radar close to where you always false positive, it will detect that change and then alert.
Yes also you want to mount around the middle of your windshield. Especially for laser.
Radars are well worth the money. My escort has already saved my azz 3x's. Well worth the 175.00 i paid for it.

ok don't jump down my throat but how is the whistler? i want to pick a rd up before i drive from san antonio to houston/galveston tomorrow... anyone know any retail stores where i can get a good one?
The SOLO had about the same range in the 30 day test, is cordless, looks cool, is small and light, and has a more distinct chirp. I don't care about the arrows, I'm watching the road, and when I hear a Ka band or laser chirp, I'm on the brakes. Doesn't matter what quadrant it's coming from to me.
Yep...the V-1 went back to Valentine, but they both get the job done very well. If I were buying today, it would be the state-of-the-art 9500i.
