can someone please post a picture of how it would look like without hardwiring it? For instance, having it hooked up using the cigarette lighter....

Thanks

i been using the V1 one for bout 6 months now and when i have it on there is no such thing is speed limit, anyway concerning bout hiding the wire i plug my v1 into the outlet in the middle armrest and run it to the glove box and then behind the glove box and up to ceiling and run to the rear mirror. ohh almost forgot i put mind as high as i could because radar serve as a receiver and the higher it is mounter the better and faster it can pick it signal, that was what i was told and it make sense with me.

If you have more then 200.00 (which is the price on craigslist for either radar) You can go big baller with the escort 9500. It has gps to make where a false positive is and remembers that location the next time you drive by it. If the signal is the same frequency it wont go off, however if a cop all the sudden decided he was going to radar close to where you always false positive, it will detect that change and then alert.

Yes also you want to mount around the middle of your windshield. Especially for laser.

Radars are well worth the money. My escort has already saved my azz 3x's. Well worth the 175.00 i paid for it.
9500i Rocks!!! Thats what I have. Escort rocks period. The V1 is only good cause it shows where its coming from, the Escort doesnt but is known to be more accurate.

Yeah, I agree.

Also I've used the Valentine 1 and the Escort side by side and I can tell you the V1 picks up signals sooner, and it continues to alert when the signal is behind you... the Escort just stops.

Always interesting.....I've done the same. Side by side 30 day test of V-1 and Escort SOLO II....with exactly the opposite results. My SOLO never "just stops". No matter the setting the V-1 had a lot more annoying false signals, it was/is big and clunky, and it cost about $100 more than the SOLO.

The SOLO had about the same range in the 30 day test, is cordless, looks cool, is small and light, and has a more distinct chirp. I don't care about the arrows, I'm watching the road, and when I hear a Ka band or laser chirp, I'm on the brakes. Doesn't matter what quadrant it's coming from to me.

Yep...the V-1 went back to Valentine, but they both get the job done very well. If I were buying today, it would be the state-of-the-art 9500i.

This says it all for me:

Here's why - my V-1 has saved my butt from cops behind me more times than I can count.

I am selling a brand new Valentine 1 that I used maybe for 1 week. I have no need for it, so I will let it go.

Why are you selling it? Aren't these radar detectors illegal?

Radar detectors are only illegal in Virginia and Washington D.C.

They maybe illegal in one of the New England states too, but I cannot remember.

Oh cool. I must get one now. I was going 80-90mph driving home today from Ventura at the same time, always looking around to see if there's a highway patrol nearby.
