Engine bay still ok...

Except for the Lexus symbol on the engine cover, which decided to jump ship.

So, what happened, since you are all probably curious:

I was at a stop sign behind one of those small semi trucks. Like not the full sized ones. The smaller ones. Anyway, he started to go, so I started rolling (foot still on brake) forward. I looked left, and then I looked right, and then I heard a *scrunch,* looked forward, saw the hood sticking up. I guess his truck stopped or didn't leave the stop sign as quickly as I thought he would. I guess the semi truck driver didn't feel anything (I mean, I didn't even feel anything) because he just went off before I could stop him. Got out, and this was the aftermath of rolling into a semi truck. A pretty ridiculous amount of damage for such a slow accident, if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm pretty bummed out. I know it's my fault. It's just... how can so much damage come from rolling at 2mph into someone or something else? It just seems kind of ridiculous. 4000$ just because I looked left and right instead of straight forward at a stop sign... oh the prices we pay for the smallest of mistakes. Anyway, just thought I would share.

Damn, glad you are ok, and sucks that it was your fault, but at least it doesnt seem that serious. The big problem I think is that the bumpers of an SUV dont really meet straight on with our cars.
