What I do when I jack up the car is use a standard hockey puck with a slot cut down the center about 3/4 the way down and place it on my jack. This helps distribute the load and prevents damage to the pinch welds. This is where I wish Toyota would be more like Honda and add reinforcment plates to these areas.

I am trying to locate jack stands that are similar to what is seen in this pic. I have seen these before but they are a little more difficult to find. If anyone knows where to get something like this please share.

I like the hockey puck idea. Thanks for sharing!

Man I hate that this car really doesn't have a place to really jack it up right. OK so I am doing one wheel at a time, and it sucks because I am bending the little ridge/2 little points where the manual shows to put the jack from the back at. Other than the little rail i am bending I am not hurting anything else am i? I know that in the long run when I finally bend that rail all the way i could be screwed when I really get a flat outside of my garage.

Gernby you use that rear point up at post #23 when you put your drag radials on? Like you just jack your whole car rear end up and do both tires at the same time?

I never use anything other than the stock scissor jack on those crappy "jack points" near each wheel. If I'm jacking up the back, I just slide my floor jack under the differential housing and jack the whole rear up at once, or I use a single ramp on one of the front wheels to lift the front enough to get my floor jack under the front / center jack point. I haven't figured out a good way to lift all 4 wheels at once.

Get some of these or these. They will not damage the body seam at the lift points shown in the owner's manual. Or you can just be cognizant of the possibility you'll damage the seam and lift accordingly. Your choice.

I believe Lexus did this on purpose to discourage DIY service and repairs.
Hogwash. I've lifted LOTS of Toyotas on the body seam rails with my floor jack, and I've supported them with jackstands on those same points. There is no way in hell you'll crush them, but if you side load them they can fold over. You need to be smarter than your jack to accomplish this task without damaging the car though.

Put a piece of wood on the jack so you are contacting the seam with a flat, level surface. You can't use a cup shaped anything to lift the car on the seams. Or order the gizmos I showed above...

Which part was hogwash. Are you saying that Lexus would recommend using those points for jackstands? FWIW, I have used those points a few times, and I bent them at least a little each time. Did I find a way in Hell?
