Default Night Light

At night when the IS is on...I notice in the inner headlights(high beams) theres a little yellow bulb that stays on the entire time...is there a way I can turn that off?

Those are your daytime running lights (DRL).
I'm not sure if the dealer can deactivate them for you, but if you unplug them you will get a light message... As stated above, you can get an LED to match your HID's and you'll probably be satisfied with that. Other than that, you might be able to deactivate it via a relay in the system, not too sure though.

you said at night so i assume your headlights are on as well? if so, that "yellow" light you see in your headlight housing is your parking lights.

I think ben r is right--DRL's do not come on when the headlights come on. What's the point? They are on during the "day" when the headlights are off for (allegedly) safety, b/c some studies show your car is more visible when the lights are on. The light that functions as the DRL becomes the "city light" or "parking light" when the headlights are on.

I would like to somehow turn them off or take them out, but changing to a whiter bulb wouldn't be such a bad idea either..
