Illuminated Scuff Plates

I was noticing in pictures of other people's cars that those with the illuminated scuff plates are brushed metal. Those that aren't illuminated are plastic. The scuff plates on my 2007 are metal but do not illuminate. Are mine not hooked up right or do some models have the metal scuff plates without illumination?

make sure your interior lights are set to come on when you open the doors --- mine wasn't set to come on.

there's a traditional switch near the sunroof controls.

the sport package and x-package has the scuff plates that don't illuminate.
luxury package has the illuminated ones.

I have the X-package and mine came with illuminated scuff plates. But then again i live in Canada.

The Luxury and X packages have illuminated scuff plates.

The sport package has aluminum scuff plates that don't illuminate

The rest have plastic scuff plates that match the interior color (and don't illuminate).

Yea there are aluminum scuff plates that do not light up at all. But make sure your Door button is pressed in on the ceiling otherwise they wont light up. If you find you dont have I know lexus-parts.com is having a sale on them right now for 166 plus shipping. LINK to more detals. Hurry though, sale ends July 31st!
