Default New Engine Clips, Need Help!!

I GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY, after the condensation, the dealer replace my right headlight housing for me, and they also some clips from the engine that was broken due to MEE because i didnt know how to use them, well the new clips are different, they are flat on top with like groove/ indentation in the middle, there isnt like a button to push or anything like the other ones that came with the car orginally, anyway i would like to know how to remove these clips, i try everything turning them, pulling them out (almost to the point of breaking them), and pressing on them, so ANY ONE HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO REMOVE THEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW....

Unfortunately, for the new-style clips, there's no way that I know of to remove them by hand, unless you have really long fingernails. I always use a flathead screwdriver to pop the center portion up, which releases the clip. I find that the new engine cover clips are much more durable than the original "fingernail release" clips, but are much harder to remove...

well i havent tried removing the TOP first, i will do that today, but it seems very hard to take it out, so what your saying is slide the flat head into the middle piece and pull?

Precisely - once you slide the top middle piece up, the clip unlocks, allowing you to pull it out.

PICS!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to see! They are probably harder to remove so people are less likely to mess with stuff.

That's strange. I bought the original style ones not too long ago without issue.

Those look like you need to "unscrew" them to get the center to lift, or gently use a small clip tool to lift the center. I assume you've tried that already?

(BTW, the Supra has two clips similar to this on the carpet over the ECM. They have a phillips cross in the center, but when you turn them they seem to do nothing unless you put a fingernail under the edge of the center and very gently turn at the same time, then they lift very easily.)
