I agree.

Not only does the navigation system serve its obvious purpose, but it has other features too.

If you have been in an IS already, you would know that the IS has poor rear visibility.

However, the system adds a back-up camera, so that you can watch as you run over an innocent child picking up his ball.

Also, the navigation system adds Bluetooth capability to the car, which might help you avoid tickets in the future.

I rarely use the navigation system for its original purpose, but for the many amenities it adds to the IS.

This topic has been discussed again and again. You'll find a lot of great info by searching. I'll try to be somewhat impartial since we own both an IS and a 335i.

To summarize:
G37 - Best bang for your buck. You get what you pay for. The car IMO feels cheaper.
IS350 - Best luxury car feel out of the group, the feeling feels isolated from the road. The car doesn't beg you to push it as much as the BMW. Reliability for a Lexus is top notch.
BMW 335i - Best driver's car IMO. If you want a performance minded car, this is your choice. The BMW has much better brake feel, steering, and overall driver feedback. If you plan on modding your car, you will make the most HP per dollar with the bi-turbo BMW.

Take everything you hear on this forum with a grain of salt. This is a Lexus forum, so your answers will be biased here as they would be on a BMW forum. Good luck.

Have you test driven these cars?

I would say G37 and IS350 are in the same price range, but a BMW335i with similar options/packages will cost you probably 6-8k more than a Lexus. I think if money's not a concern definitely go with a 335i fully loaded. I personally got tired of driving coupes so I would go with IS350 if you cannot afford the BMW.

oh also BMW is not as reliable but you get the free 4 year maintanence. Who knows what will happen after 4 years? BMW service is also not as good as Lexus.

After 4 years, you extend it.

LOL. I'm saying in general. You should expect some bias on all car specific brands.

Fdelement, it is my understanding the G37 is less than the 350. The 335i is about 4-5k more.

Are you talking about out of warranty or in warranty? If you are buying a new cars (since we're talking about new cars), the BMW maintenance/repair will be cheaper than Lexus due to the maintenance/warranty plan. Outside of the 4 yr/50k, it is advisable to at least get the extended maintenance to 7 yr/100k miles at the price of $1199. The brake job is $900+ alone, so it pays itself off right there. Some dealerships will top off your fluids if need be also. Free wipers whoopee.

BMW parts aren't more expensive than Lexus, they are roughly the same. The BMW aftermarket and accessories seem to be cheaper however.

you go to a car-specific forum, you'll get some rather biased opinion. that's not a knock on any of us or anyone else on other car forums; that's just how it is.

IMO if i were you, i'd go experience/test drive all three cars, formulate your own opinions, and arrive at your own conclusion. just something you should do out of fairness to all three equally capable vehicles.

good luck, and keep us posted.

Quote: Im looking to by my 1st car this upcoming dec. Im trying to decided what i should go with. Either the infiiti g37, bmw 335i, or is350. I could use some of your guys opinions on what to choose.. thanks alot
Your FIRST car? As in you have very little driving experience, or your first new car?

If it's your very first car ever, I am curious why you would buy any of these cars. I would be looking at an entirely different class of vehicles (assuming you don't have a family and absolutely need four doors.)

What are your plans for the car? It sounds like money may be a significant issue, and choosing to lease isn't always the best solution to get into a "better" car.

What does it absolutely have to do for you? That's the most important question to answer...

+1 on all points.

I would add that the g37, due to its price and fun factor, is probably the best bet for the OP.
