I took my car to dealership for 10k mile service and i told them please do not wash it cause my car has the aftermarket bodykit. but they didn't listen to me and they broke my driver side sideskirt. they took almost 4 weeks to repair and it. and after i got my car bak i found out they forget change my car's engine oil which i already paid 177 dollars serivice fee. wht you think i shoud do?
ABSOLUTELY go back and get the 10k service done! Also, is it just me or does $177 sound too high for a 10k, even at a dealer? Anyone else wanna chime in?
On second thought I'd call the service manager and ask they do the service and refund the $177 to you for inconvenience!
pwnobh4,
Sometimes the delear service center forgets to reset the counter for the engine oil, it doesn't mean that they didn't change it. I'm not on their side but I don't want you to be embaresed if you went there shouting at them then finding out that they actually did change it.
As for the sideskirt, it is totally unforgivable but you may take it as an oppurtunity to make yourself known to them so you get a speacial treatement on the 20K maint. :-)
i would also claim that they didnt change it..i mean if you took it to the dealership for an oil change, and after they return the car to you, the oil light is still on, i would assume that the entire job is not finished. After all, turning the light off is a part of the service, especially if their gonna charge you 177 dollars
Check your dipstick. Even on a car with 10,000 miles on it with oil that was changed 5,000 miles ago I would assume that the oil color should be distinguishable from completely fresh oil.
Well.. they did a mistake (washing your car n breaking the side skirt) and they did actually took care of their mistake.. anyways like what you said, I've had that happen to me once when the tech forgot to turn off the service light.
I checked my dipstick, and also the filter then called the dealer and they instructed me on how to turn it off by myself. It's pretty easy...
I guess if they are dealing with ten's of cars daily I am sure when considering the Human Factor... this kinda mistakes is bound to happen. The best part is, I am NOT sure how the tech did not notice the Maintaince Light when he pulled my car for me from the LOT after the service.
Anyways... I am glad they got your side skirt fixed!!!
Sometimes it's just crazy on how we get on them .... always wondered how would it be being on the other side of the wall... hahaha!!!

Not really its per dealer but yeah it should be too high I paid 120 and thought that was way too high too. 10k all it is is a damn oil change. I laughed at them but had no choice because it was a hassle and out of my way to get up to the dealer. I think next time I am buying the filter and going to toyota. But I did call around my area and place are quoting everywhere from 120 - 150 for that stupid service. Its a joke for sure. the invioce states like 20 something in parts and the rest is labor....... go figure.
