sounds totally unacceptable but, do you guys have a lease? and does a lease mean you are obligated to follow dealer recommend service religiously? at 10k what do you have to do beside becoming an expensive oil change? I mean, what do you really get for $150-$170 beside that oil change?

They "inspect" certain parts of the car, its in the manual. But any idiot can inspect, and im sure they will find something wrong just to charge you something for thier time..... aren't techs on commission too? If not they act like it....

I take my lexus to the service station where i get all my cars service, they keep computerized records and are up to date on all cars recomended service intervals and what needs to be done at that time, and they dont rape you when they do it. In fact you sit in your car, or stand thier watching everything they do. My suggestion is find a tech or shop you trust and as long as they keep accurate records and you do everything that is recomended thier is NO reason to go into the dealership.....only for warranty work.

yeah i feel your pain on the car wash. I have them put that first in the tech notes, and then also i print out in large font "do not wash" and put it on the dash and on the passenger seat. They have screwed me 2x's before I started doing that. One time they still did it and said it was because the guy that washed the car couldn't read english. However, I must say that other then that Sewell of dallas has been pretty good to deal with so far.

If it was me I would masking tape a piece of regular 8"x11" paper on the steering wheel, I mean, they have to drive it to the washing spot and cannot miss this note right? It's pretty hard to miss if it's on the steering wheel
