Hey guys, i know this is a newb question cause ive had my car since summer 06 but how do u play Dvd's in the nav ML ? i remember trying once awhile back but nothing work and i totoally forgot about it. is there something special u have to do ?

 

Play it on packing mode, other than that you need to hack....

 

do i HAVE to hack in order for it to play? or not?

 

Car in park, parking brake on, DVD in player ....... GO!!

 

You don't have to do the hack unless if you want to play DVDs while driving...

 

can you do it on a 250 without ML?

 

It doesn't matter what engine you have. If you don't have ML you don't have a DVD player so no... you need ML and you need to have the ML/nav combo. Even if you ordered nav and ML separately it won't play DVDs.

But I have "DVD" based navigation, doesn't that mean it reads "DVDs"?

 

No... that means the single drive for the satnav is a DVD... it's totally seperate from the CD changer. Even still that DVD is just for the nav and can't play movies.

Before this turns into another of the myriad discussions about the nav hack, let's acknowledge the OP's question has been answered, and there is little more to discuss. Should he choose to modify his system to show DVDs while in motion the information is available in the nav hack thread. Should he choose not to do this mod, let's leave it alone and let the OP enjoy his new car.

 

Na it voids my warranty i can live without watching dvds while driving..had one before..never used it..
