That is crazy, anytime you change a brake pad you don't need to resurface the rotor unless they are gouged or warpped just because you got it for free doesn't mean you needed it. You are just going to have to replace your rotor sooner.
So you just unnecessarily reduced the service life of your rotors. Why?
There is no need to resurface the rotors on the pad change. None at all. It's a waste of a good rotor.
Thats what I was wondering... They offered to do it at my dealership too and I happily declined! I think they do it just so you will have to come back that much sooner to drop more money there on new rotors. Stealerships....
One more thing, when it is time to replace your rotor, tell them no and go get a Brembo or Endless or *insert fav brand* BBK (big brake kit).
I'm really not feeling that. New rotors are less than $150 each for the front. They work marvelously for street driving. I'm not into bling or willing to take chances with changing my brake system for style alone, so I'll continue to sport OEM rotors and calipers, and probably even the OEM lower dust pads. They work fine for my use and they are dirt cheap compared to any BBK.
