Default Debadging the Trunk

Hello folks, I was thinking about debadging the trunk of my IS, but I was wondering what would be the best way to do that without destroying my paint job. I plan to take the Lexus and IS250 off of the trunk and leave the L-symbol on the top of the trunk... anyone have any suggestions? If someone has already done this please post some pics! Hope to hear from you guys...

Plenty of threads on this already. Be aware there are holes under the emblems, so it'll require a bit of filling and repainting if you are going to do it right.

I used dental floss (the waxiest I could find) and either goo gone, or WD40, I can't remember....

This was on a BMW btw, which, from what I can gather, has a bit harder clearcoat than the Lexi so the process might be different.

yep, made the 85.00 mistake....... thier are holes and if you have them filled and painted the "correct" way you are looking at a whole trunk repaint according to my shop since they dont like to leave "exposed edges" or rough edges.......not worth it to me. But i did pull them off and had to pay 85 for replacement emblems

yeah there are 2 holes underneath each emblem... so 4 in total. if you want em filled n painted by a bodyshop, it'll be roughly 250ish. the good thing is is that the part where the emblems are located can be dissassembled from the trunk and painted separately... that way you don't have to paint the entire trunk lid.
