Default Smart Key - Resellable?

Hi guys. I just recently sold my IS350. But the dealership is being lazy on getting me the extra keys and cover for my S2000 that I just bought.

I still haven't given them the extra key for my IS and won't do so unless I receive everything that is due to me.

The question I have is the extra transmitter that I have. Is it resellable and can it be reprogrammed. I would guess yes. The only thing different would be a new key would have to be cut for the door, but the transmitter would be the same.

Anyone?

You are right. It can be programmed to another IS for sure, and probably any Toyota using a smart key.

Yes, I've seen them for sale on eBay. The buyer would have to bring his car and all of his keys to the dealer for programming. (It's actually the car, not the key, that gets reprogrammed)

The problem is that you won't get enough from the sale of the IS key to replace the extra keys and cover for the s2000. I would keep on them until they get those items to you or buy you new ones if they can't come up with them.

How much would the transmitter go for?

Really its just one set of keys for the S and one remote. I have the car cover, the tonneau cover is what is needed. In all honesty on my last S2000, I never used it. And I can buy a new one for $50 from any user on the S2000 board. I'd probably want it just to get it.

I would think a used smart key would go for at least $150+? Considering they are what $400 at the dealership?

Not a chance, they are $180 brand new. http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...bCategoryID=91

From what I've seen on eBay, I'm guessing you'll get somewhere between $50 and $75 dollars.

ah IC. Oh well. I just hope I get what I'm supposed to. That dealership was definitely not at the top of the list in customer service.... But the car and price were too much to pass up.

But damn that finance manager is a *****.
