I've had no problems pairing the Razr on both Verizon and Cingular (aka ATT), and a few others.
Just got a Samsung Blackjack and everytime I restart the car, the phone doesn't connect. Sometimes it seems to connect, but I can't use the IS phonebook to dial, etc.
i had the same issues my IS friend. The thing that was great baout the razor was that it would connect the moment you turned the car on even if you had the bluetooth off... and when you are away from the car it would automatically disconnect...
well
blackjack.. nope! you have to manually turn it on "FN & B" and it will connect to the car once you have already paired it once to the system... sometimes it does get finicky and completely forgets the connection and you black jack asks if you want to "connect to the lexus"... that isn't good when it happens cause even when you push ok
it still own't show up on your nav that you connected...
Ok steps.... first clear the blackjack from the nav system.... and clear the lexus from the black jack just to start from square one....
Now
1) go to info... bluetooth.... and register on the navigaiton menu...
2) you should already see your password listed for the lexus whether default or you changed it earlier
3) on the blackjack hit the top left button for system options... wireless manager... push MENU... push Blootooth settings...
4) push MENU again.... "add new devices"
5) if you gave your lexus a title the phone should pop up the name or call it "lexus"
6) select it and click ok... it will ask you to enter the pass code...
7) then click "hands free" so the check is in the box. and you should see the busy "windows circle icon" as busy...
8) watch the nav screen and it should say it is connected...
ok
Now to deal with it not remember the phone....
when you get out your car... make sure you turn off the bluetooth on the phone...
I have had success reconnecting when i am back in my car whether i turn it on before i start the car or after with the "auto connect" on...
One thing i think that might be a problem is if you are connected to the internet on the phone while tryingto turn on your bluetooth...
also trouble shoot between the bluetooth setting for the Nav either being connected automatically or not.....
believe me i was so annoyed the first week after having the blackjack because of this... because i had just got the car 2 weeks before and the RAZR was so quick to interface with the ML Nav.. i felt like a king LOL...
I will check in here and there so let me know of any quesitons... especially because i am typing this pretty fast...
one other troubleshoot i noticed is making calls outside of the car (when car is off) with the bluetooth on will cause the interface between the car and the phone to be lost when you later get back in the car... if you get the question to "connect audio to lexus" it will never do it.
Turn off the bluetooth and go back to the devices menu on the phone .. hit refresh and check the box again... and click done.
Joneser - Thanks for the suggestions. I'm finding that the phone has the most problems if a different user's phone is still selected on the Nav unit when the Blackjack comes into range.
Illawgical - I tend to leave the bluetooth setting on all the time.
Ben R - The device and service are direct billed to work. The company only supports (ie pays for) the Blackjack. Would have gone for the Blackberry Pearl if I had my choice.
I've never touched a phone as terrible as this. I got an average of 5-8 drop calls a day and the reason being that ATT gave me was that its a 850mhz and I need 950mhz for it to work off the network properly. And yes I bought it from ATT.
