Question Quick Recovery from "Bluetooth Connection Failure"???

Q1: Anyone know of a way to QUICKLY reset the Bluetooth connection in a Lexus (i.e., a control within the Nav system?) WITHOUT having to turn the ignition off and then on again?

Q2: Is anyone able to simultaneously use their BT-equipped cell phone WITH a BT headset AND the Lexus BT Handsfree? If so, what is your device and setup details?

I'm finding that if I enter my car while my BT Headset (Motorola HS850-C) is already connected to my T-Mobile MDA/Phone, then the Lexus Nav consistently shows the "Bluetooth Connection Failure" message. It seems that the MDA doesn't multiplex to allow more than one connection at a time (I can see from a technical standpoint why this may be, but wonder still if other phones with BT have the ability to multiplex).

It follows that so far, the only way to reset the Lexus's polling for the BT is to first turn off the BT headset, and then either turn the ignition off and then on again (obviously not desirable if already driving!) OR turn BT off and then on again on the MDA/Phone.

Thanks-in-advance for any comments/solutions!

Gald to read your post. I was about to post on this same subject, but from a different angle.
My need is not for multiplexing, but my need to use my Bluetooth HP IPaq to check email while away from the office.
I've learned from ClubLexus postings that turning off BT on my phone, then powering it back up, cancels the Lexus connection, allowing me to fire up the Ipaq and check email (cell phone serves as wireless modem).
BUT, when I'm done, I cannot find a way to re-establish the BT connection between car and phone without turning the engine off and back on. I've done it several times, but it feels like a dumb/terrible thing to do at 70+ mph.
I've also seen on ClubLexus that Bluetooth depends on a vehicle speed "VSS" signal to cancel certain features. I have learned there is a re-register function, but it is cancelled at speed. But even if VSS were be bypassed, a lot of key presses are involved.
Anybody know of a way to "reset" BT on the go, without a lot of keypresses? Maybe a power interrupt to the BT controller?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

well, you cant connect with more then one device on ANY bluetooth phone, more of a BT issue, then anythign else.

Now... why dont you try and pair up the phone with your car using your phone? In my Nokia, i get that option where i can pair up... I've tried it a few times, but the LS's BT connection somtimes has a mind of its own.

Thanks Grand LS 4; that seems like a good suggestion.
Sorry to say, it doesn't work with my Motorola V710. The phone has 2, maybe 3 screens that are efforts at "pairing" the phone; none of them work.
I think the Lexus isn't "discoverable" unless you are stopped, and in the phone selection screen.
So the search for a safe way to reconnect at speed continues...........
Thanks again.
