I have had dark tints on all my previous cars. I never had problems with them before. How exactly does ALL RED tail lights asking for trouble? Slow down? Yes I admit i was rushing home during 2am on a highway with barely any cars besides me. The cop states he was pacing me. I have my detector on the whole time with no warning. He wrote the tickets as if he was pacing me for like 10 minutes. I always check my rear view mirror when i drive, every couple of seconds. If he was really behind me I would of spotted him. Like i said, i drove for 7 years, I always look out for them when i drive, my eyes can spot them from far away. But this time, I don't know what happened.

When we told our family that we were getting a red Lexus IS250 they replied with, "Ticket car!" I hope not!

There are plenty of red cars on the road. A lot of them are more fire engine red than the Lexus red which is a bit darker.

Radar or laser does not discriminate based on color. Red does catch the eye, as do other colors such as yellow. The Lexus IS red is a very dark red, less eye catching than the brighter reds.
One must use a good defense when driving "spiritadly". A good radar detector (V1), look for potential radar trap locations, don't drive reckless (frequent lane changes, tail gating...) and be sure to slow down when in doubt.

Ticket attorney is always worth the $$.

Question

Excuse me for sounding preachy, but we’re back to an old issue on this forum. Some of you only think in terms of not getting caught and what to do if caught breaking some law, whether it’s a moving violation or an illegal mod. And when caught you think you were just “unlucky.”

There seems to be little regard among some around here for doing the right thing in the first place, i.e., being a responsible car owner and driver, one who makes every attempt to be responsible, law abiding and safe when on the road. Does this mean anything anymore, or am I just out of touch with modern attitudes?

i wonder if that has more to do with the red color then the make of the car.

You know, I think your right about just about any car on the road today can get to 80+....so as I just said "it must be the driver"

Not exactly sure where this person lives but out here in So. California running 80 will 'just' keep you up with traffic.......your not likely to pass anyone at that speed.
The same can be said for I45 in TX, however Troopers love that interstate and well people are always getting pinched. I managed to get 2 tickets in 1 night on it. * lets just say i was trying to make up time from my first ticket *

Very few cops here on the dozen highways across Conn. Then again there's too much traffic and bad road conditions to really do any speeding for an extended distance (though 40 mph speed limits on the interstates would be an easy speed trap). And for the record I do follow the speed limit and drive responsibly. No way I'm smashing my expensive shiny Lexus into a Jersey barrier or into a car or truck in the next lane due to my own carelessness.

No speeding ticket so far - thanks for my Tanabe exhaust. Used to hit 90-100mph without noticing how fast I was driving but since I installed my exhaust I know if I'm going too fast or accelerating too fast. You hear the VVVROOOM. My 2 cents.

If you cant control your speeding, smoke a doobie first, no one gets pulled over for speeding stoned

When you drink then drive you turn into shumacher/gordon *danica patrick for you gurls* BUT when you smoke you turn into grandpa/grandma.

This car is giving me really bad luck or is it just me? I've been driving for 7 years and this never happened to me before. Blah

My PBA card was for 2006, I don't know why I didn't show it to the cop anyway, maybe it would of worked. I always have my windows down when i see cops or when I'm driving on local, but like i said I had the tints for only one day I couldn't roll down my window without messing up the install. Well anyway, tinted window is not the problem right now. I received the 6 tickets on LIE westbound in Nassau County near exit 34 I think.
