I just picked up my '07 IS Saturday. It doesn't have Nav or satellite radio, but it has the shark fin. I like the '06's without the shark fin better though.

I totally agree, it just doesn't flow with the car's design... besides, I don't think it gives the car a euro look as much as a BMW look IMO, that's not a good thing, BMW only knows how to design pretty wheels

Default Same question/problem

I have an '06 350 with the little "pillbox" antenna for XM radio. Every time I see it it gets uglier. I asked the dealer about switching to the sharkfin but they said it would be very expensive as they would have to remove the inner liner to pull the wiring through.

If you find a solution please let me know!

I am trying really hard to understand what the appeal is with the shark fine, but just really think it takes away from the lines of the car. I don't like it on the German cars either and every time I see one in person it just kind of looks like a cheap add on to me. Could BMW or Lexus not develop a smaller, less obvious antenna? Still think it from a distance it looks like a small bird perched on your roof, ready to crap on your back window.

Mine is a Euro 07 with nav and no shark fin.

It's not standard over here in Europe - its a mod in most countries. You would have a more Euro look than we would !!!

When I was at the dealer to purchase my vehicle in September 06, I had the choice of a 06 or 07. The fin was a big reason why I did not go for a 07. It was more $ and the fin just sealed the deal for me for an 06.

I'm so glad i got an '06 before the fin too, it looks alright with the fin, but if i had a choice i'd go without, as people have said, keeps the lines looking clean.
