Default Replacement engine cover, CRAZY OVER-PRICED!!

I painted my engine cover, and it didn't turn out the way I had planned, so instead of stripping it, I thought I would just buy a new one. But I called the dealer and he said that they are $250!!! For some injection molded plastic and foam underneath...rediculous...looks like I'll be strippin' some paint!!

$250 is actually reasonable.

I was actually expecting $500.

Some people scratched the wood console, and replacing that is about $1200. If you crack the nav screen, it's $6000.

The price of luxury...

I wouldn't have expected any less, considering it's a Lexus product.

Lexus is Toyota.
IF you think about this way...
Yaris @ 103 HP for $13k
IS350 @ 310 HP for $39k
There is the 3x factor on both horse power and dollar spent.
SO I SAY LEXUS IS ONLY A REGULAR TOYOTA.

Back to the topic, I was thinking about $300 for that cover. Not too bad @ $250.

That would mean that the IS-F would be about $52,800, right? Somehow that seems a little on the cheap side.

$250 is not overpriced at all, considering it is injection molded, insulated, painted, and finished with chrome emblems. Keep in mind that if you do decide to strip the paint, you'll be stripping away the silver stock paint, too.

WTF???? might as well buy a brand new(and probably better) aftermarket navi/dvd and it would not even cost close to $6000.
