i am driving ~100-120 round trip a day.......and yes, $3.89 a gal REALLY hurts!

First I need to say I work in the oil business and so I don't care about gas prices, well, I care, but only when it's going down.

On average those of us owing a 2IS own a 30k to 40k automobile, which is a decent amount of change for a car. I know it's not the kind of cash that makes people stop and think, "that guy is loaded" but it's enough that we should all be living comfortable.

The issue with rising prices at the pump always gets a good laugh from me. I understand those people in society that are on fixed incomes or barely getting along, working two jobs, etc etc but are we really at the point in our lives where an extra 70.00 a month is going to break us?

3.00 a gallon * 17 gallons * 4 fill ups a month = 204.00 monthly bill
4.00 a gallon * 17 gallons * 4 fill ups a month = 272.00 monthly bill

I don't know, I'm about as far from a big timer as the next guy, but I'm sure not worried about 70 bucks a month.

Its not about the gas price I care about, its more like is there any horsepower increase since they do say it can have as much as 13 hp increase.

I've never filled up a full 17 gallons. And if you've filled up more than 17 gallons in your IS, then WOW. But I usually fill up when I still have 2-3 gallons left, meaning I only fill up 14-15 gallons. So at $3.5 a gallon, 14-15 gallons is like $49-52. However, prices are going up. Just the other day, I saw gas at $3.79 (granted, it's in Westwood) but even out in the Ktown area is 3.50ish.

I bought a car once and it got 150 mpg, then GM came to me and said my car had some sort of secret carburetor that got put on my mistake. So they made me give it back. All of these 'gimmicks', like magic pills you put in your tank to increase hp and mileage, alignment magnets on the fuel line, and the Tornado are just there to separate your hard earned money from your wallet. They are scams. Mileage and hp is based on good engineering, not on these silly, goofball things you tack on. Thermodynamics and physics can't be changed. Save your money.

exactly! When I buy a car I think hmmm can i continue to afford my lifestyle choices if I buy this car, or will buying this car cause me to scrape by. If I determine the later I dont buy the car. My parents always told me if you cant afford to fix it or fill it...you cant afford it.

For my case, I have to get 2 fill-ups a week:

$4.00 * 17 * 8 a month * 12 months = $6528 per year

vs

$3.00 ! 17 * 8 a month * 12 months = $4896 per year

WOPPING $1632.00 a year.

I can utilize that $$$$ to mod my car!!!!

It's not a matter of "I can afford that additional $136 a month or not".... it's the matter that your paycheck is getting a hefty cut for doing NOTHING cos the prices of gas rocketing skyhigh.....

You just read 2 pages of posts where the only remarks about the device are that it's a scam, and then you bump it a couple years later wanting to know who tried out the item everyone agreed was a scam?

Jus bec they agreed it was a scam doesent mean it is... reading this thread looks like no one actually tried it and immediatly discredited it. To be honest I don't think it will do anything. Jus curious to see if anyone purchased and tried. Don't see the harm in that. Not like I made a new thread.
