I used to have a Honda Accord Hybrid prior to the IS350 and the navigation on it was sweet! I could see elevation data, how many satellites were in use, etc. My question is..can we view elevation data on the Lexus Nav?
Yea I think they did away with that feature when the did away with all the other useful features that normal GPS systems have, like entering points while you drive, and view a songs information while your moving... damn toyota...
IIRC, if you have the override ability ('06 Nav versions), you can access that info from the service menu. I know I can see the birds in the sky data - thought I saw elevation data there also . . .
Not only that mine also has a depth and fish finder as well. I think its also capable of getting wind speed and wave intervals from the offshore buoys as well.

Lat and Long, azimuth and angular elevation of the bird, but not elevation above sea level. It could easily be done, all the raw data necessary is there, but they don't show it. BTW, the GPS info on the Service screen includes GPS time so you can sync the dumb clock on the dash with world time. Too bad it doesn't do that automatically. Also too bad the nav unit doesn't have a clock function to display GPS time on the nav screen. But it surely will tell you what time you will arrive based on your programmed speeds for various roads instead of drive time. I use it that way all the time.
Well Honda/Acura seem to have the #1 Nav unit of any car thus far that I have driven. Why couldn't Lexus just have put the stinking elevation in there if the data is already there. Oh well.

I like the Honda nav for it's intuitiveness and overall ease of use, but the gen 5 Lexus Nav has better graphics and display. I guess you can't have it all.

Disagree, as long as you have lock on at least 4 birds, the elevation and speed will be spot on.
