Default Question About the Navigation

Hoping you folks can help me resolve three things with the Navigation system. Issue number one is the fact that the navigation system does not shut off the music that's playing on the stereo when it speaks directional changes. This is done automatically every time on my Acura. I can still hear the nav instructions clearly but it feels weird to hear both nav instructions and music at the same time. Is there a control to change it so the music is turned down/off while nav directions are given?

Issue number two is this: Once I get to a familiar location and no longer need the nav instructions how do I shut if off while driving? On my Acura, I turn a ****, press a button and the instructions stop. I can't figure out how to stop the navigation system from directing me until I actually reach my destination. This is annoying. Is it possible to end the nav directions before reaching your destination?

Issue number three: On my Acura, I could ask for a detour from the current route, again with a twist of a **** and button press. It would respond quickly, showing distance and route if I wanted the detour. How do I do this while driving (for example, at a stop light) in the Lexus?

no way to stop the nav voice while music is playing

hit menu, then dest and at the top right you will see del. dest.

it's in your nav settings, i believe it's traffic avoidance i'm not sure but i know what you mean, you'll have to search through your nav settings. whenever the route screen pops up it gives you 3 diff routes... someone will chime in, i don't want to give you the wrong info on this last one.

As an alternative you can turn the voice directions off entirely through the Nav Menu. Then if you want audio nav directions somewhere along your route, simply press the Map button down and you will get the audio directions to your next nav point without any further interruptions. By using this method, your music is never interrupted with voice directions unless you specifically ask for them by pushing the Map button.

For detour, press Route on the bottom of the Map Scren, then Detour, then you will have a few choices, whole route, around traffic, etc.

There is an option to turn down the volume of the music when the Nav starts talking. It's somewhere in the Nav settings.

Hit route and pause destination to stop the Nav when you get to a familiar area.

I thought "delete destination' would delete it from my address book. I guess not. My mistake.

Thanks to all for the solutions to my three issues!
