Default Auto air circulation mode

So i dropped my IS off for 15K service today and got an ES for a loaner. Well one of the things that has annoyed me about my car works correctly on the ES!

Yes the Auto air circulation mode doesn't stay in auto mode (after shutting engine off) in ours cars but does in the ES! WTH Lexus!? Anyway just wanted to rant a bit.

Hmm, my auto circulation is on all the time. Did you ask the dealer to check it out?

Really?! From what my Tech advisor says and the posts I've read here it can't be setup to stay in auto mode.

Okay over lunch I will check it one more time just to be sure. It has been a while since I even touched that button and this morning I saw it was still in auto.

Default Auito Mode

This is a Lexus Personal Setting and can be adjusted by the dealer. I had mine turned off. I was initially told by my service provider that this could not be changed but persisted and had it turned off.

That is strange mine stays in AUTO mode constantly... on both sides I let it auto select the air in and out and auto the AC compressor. Mine has been like this for over 3 or 4 months. Are you changing the air flow maybe? Like AUTO may have it blowing at your feet but you decide to change it to your face? That will turn AUTO off and it won't save your settings.. I have noticed that.

yes this is a good point! the auto mode does decide for you where the air will flow. if you do change this top a manual mode then it will not return to auto unless you turn it back on yourself.

^^ Also on a side note if you don't like the way the air is blowing on AUTO you can play with the temperature and that will fix it. Experiment you'll see what I'm talking about!

On my 2006 350, the setting seems to get reset whenever the car is started. Does it work on anybody's 06?

My settings ALWAYS stay the same from shut off to the next start up
and so on until I change the settings, whether it be in auto or manual.
Maybe this is the default on the 07s and not the 06s.

Yea I have an 06... Can anyone confirm that it can be changed on a 06 model via the personal settings?

This is a difference in the 1550, 1600, and 1650 versions of firmware for the nav/HVAC. Notice the '07s all say it works fine? They have 1650 firmware (and no nav override screen that anyone has been able to find). All the '06's with 1550 or 1600 firmware will reset every time the power resets (start the car, etc.)
