I went to the Denver auto show today.

American cars stink. they all look like bricks with wheels.
Euro and Japanese are smooth and silky.

Then I went to lexus and infinity. last year when i began my car search, my two choices were the IS 350 and G35.
my wife hated the G35 interior. that was the 2006, with the pop up nav.

well today i was comparing the g35 to the IS 350. boy am i happy with the IS!

the G35 interior seems so cheap and uninviting. no warmth. the seats are like a piece of horse leather.

the entire lexus line, the interiors swallow you like you are back in the womb.
i love the LS 460L.
i think that when it's time to get rid of my acura tl, i may go for the GS.

anyway infinity g35 horse leather

Lexus Butter (butta).

oh BTW one lexus peeve. all other lexus cars have some sort of coin holder

Lexus Owners don`t need coin holder. We`re too rich to carry coins. Just Plastic Cards is all we need. HaHa

Not really trying to defend infiniti cars but I think their cars are pretty nice and seems to be getting better each year. The new 2007 G35 Sedans are tons better than the first ones that came out and the interior has been a lot better as well. Personally, I love the Lexus cars I own but I still don't think infiniti cars are as bad as some of you talks about.

I also considered the '07 G35, performance was good but just couldn't get over the exterior styling (especially the rear) and the so-so interior. Now that I've seen a few in town, I still haven't changed my opinion on the exterior.

As much as I love my IS, I can't totally agree with you here. Sure things change, but lets face it, most of the Hondas have always had the reputation of being boxes on wheels (and some of the older Toyotas too). And some of the European cars are not much better. The Volvo is regarded by many as a tank, and I don't really dig the BMW hard-edges.

But I will agree with you on the fact that the IS is a better look in (and out in my opinion) than the G35.

feel the same way, i dont really care just as long as another company can wake euro up that they cant pass some of the cars they sell as good luxury cars

FYI if your a non-smoker the ash tray compartment lifts out and leaves a perfect coin holder

I think the IS is one of the best looking cars on the road today. Three drawbacks: It's too small inside, the deflectoers on the rear bumper look kinda dumb and it's a sedan. I'm a coupe man but I tried to buy the IS. It was just too little inside. They must think only little guys and girls want the car. I love my G35. The interior is not up to Lexus standards but it can be modded just like the outside.

what i mean is thatthe US makers seem to be trying to recapture the past.
no new styling, just trying to restyle the past. look at the mustang, or the new comaro, PT cruiser.
clunky not spunky
IMHO
YMMV
