Default Cold Engine (How hard is hard)

I know you not supposed to race a cold engine and should let it run low for 5-10 mins in order to get the operation temperature. The question is how hard is hard? and how low is low to wait for the operation temp? Thanks

I read that whole thread already, no one mentioned bout speed. People say below 3k RPM, but in order to reach 3k RPM you need to drive like 100mph, I drove 80-90mhp and my RPM is around 2.5k

Uh, i think they mean to let the car shift before 3K while in the lower gears.

You don't want your revs to go above 3 k.

I didn'tk now you can go up to 3k RPM while you are at lower gears, I assume you need to step on the gas padel like crazy in order to achive that.

ummm, 3,000 RPM can be achieved in all gears, your car idles at like 8 to 900 rpm. just step on the gas barely and you will be at 3k easily

Not sure about that cause I never got above 2k RPM on lower gears beside 6 which I hit 80-90mph in order to get up to 2.5k RPM.

... Do you have your car in the snow mode or something?

I easily get above 2K RPM driving with what I consider to be a very light foot...

Point is, you can go as fast as you want as long as you keep the engine revs low. 80 mph in sixth gear is perfectly fine.

I don't know, I never got to 2k RPM from any gears beside 6, and you are saying that 80mph in 6th gear is fine for a cold engine? that's insane :P

Assuming that you're at 0 MPH, don't get to the 2nd gear with 3,000+ RPM on the tachometer.

I usually just flip on the ECT snow button, and wait until I think my engine is warmed up, before I start pushing the car.

yes I am sure I am looking at it correctly, I just tap my gas padel and yes I do get to 1.5rpm and stuff but I don't up to 3k RPM between gears 1-5.

When I first start my car RPM stays at 1500 and then a couple sec later it drops to 1200-1300.
