Default HID Pics

I had HID conversion kits installed by a local shop, to be honest i'm not too happy with the results, because i think the shop did a bad job on the install, the lights go in all sorts of directions. the brand of the kit is O-Nex, and i got the 2000k for fogs and 6000k for low beams. If you look on the third pic, there is obviously light going in all sorts of directions, the difference is really clear when you compare the foglights.

WOW! Now that is a bad install! Just look at your beam pattern! lolol, holy crap.

Dude, take it back to the shop! Or get someone else to fix it for you right.

id watch out if i were you, a shop that did that kind of work definetly would not do anything to keep out moisture since you have to make holes in the headlight cover...

worst install ever you should take it back.

i asked if they were going to put projectors with the install, and the guy was like "huh" and i said "you know so i just dont blind people" and his response was "oh yea dont worry you wont". The only reason i went to this shop is because an old friend works in the front, but it was a bad choice. If anyone knows a shop in socal that could help me fix this, and also smokes tail-lights please let me know.

You should fix it by yourself, since it would be meaningless to ask them on what to do. I think that the xenon bulbs are not sitting at the correct focus point to give a correct lighting beam pattern.
It's not hard at all.

I guess the lesson here for any potential new IS owners is... If you are going to want HID somewhere down the road, spend the extra cash and get them with your new car...

Let us know what happens! Best of Luck!

I installed the same kit on my friend honda accord and the result was horrible. Lights scattered everywhere and it's not worth 190 that he paid. I thought it was due to his headlight(non projecter) but i guess it's the kit. You bought your lexus for 37K+ and you chose to buy a cheap kit? There must be a reason why some kit like XD or Mccullod cost 300+ while those cheap kit on ebay go for 200 less.

all these people that are getting HID kits ... did they not get HID from the factory? I have yet to see an IS that doesn't have HID... I was looking at just getting some 8000k D4S bulbs to get that more bluish look but then i see everyone getting hid kits? whats the deal?

I think HID is an option on 06 model, but standard on 07 model. that's why some people have to get HID kits instead of getting just the bulbs.

I have Onex on my fogs.. got it from nsx prime. Looks great~ my guess is whoever installed it only put 2 of the 3 notches on your bulb when trying to twist it in. All hids kits are the same (if they use the same plugs)~ they are just rebadged w/ another sticker on the ballast.
