Default Eibach Spring Install Question...

i just had my springs installed the other day and i am having the clunking noise when going over bumps. ive searched to find out how to fix this problem. ive seen where ppl have posted that i need to lower the car and re torque the suspension pivot points. if someone could explain to me exactly which bolts i need to do this....b/c i took it back to the place that installed it and i told them about it....but im not sure they understood what i was talking about. thanks in advance....btw, the noises are coming from both sides of the rear suspension and today they took it all apart and reinstalled it, but the noise is still there. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

If you still have the Eibach instructions, which they should have read, give it to them so they can go over where they may have installed something incorrectly. Basically they should do the final torquing while the vehicle' weight is resting on all four wheels.

Bump.. Anyone out there with Eibach's have this problem? I want one too, but now I might just go with the Tien CS if ride quality sucks!

final torquing, but what exactly do u torque? i mean there are several bolts that need to be tighten down, but i want to know exactly which ones. ive done a search, but no where does it say which ones specifically.

Whichever ones were loosened to install the springs. I have no idea what the rear suspension looks like but that is standard procedure on any suspension work. If you torque while the suspension is sagging, the bushings will bind once the car is lowered to ground. Most mechanics are too lazy to do things like.

Exactly as KKelly stated. You can go to http://techinfo.lexus.com/
and for $10.00 24hrs you can download all you ever want to know about your car. I think someone actually posted the torque values in one of the spring install threads.

I don't have this problem at all... but I followed the instructions. I think it is easier for me as I have a 4-post lift witha jack bridge. I can have the car 5' in the air and use the jack bridge to lift either axle up in the air. When re-assembling, I take the jack bridge down putting the weight back on the suspension and then do final torqueing. Piece of cake. The Eibach springs are great and I think they even ride better than the stock springs... and the car looks super with a 1" lower ride height.
