Default 5 % tint?

I have an all black IS, and i was wondering, those of you who decided to go with 5%, what do you think? Do you recommend or not?

Thankyou for your help.

its ok, you just have to get used to it. when you back up, you almost always have to open up your windows to look at your sideview mirrors.

I dont understand, I know that the higher the number, the darker. 50% is darker than 40% or less.

Rashood, the higher the number, the LIGHTER the tint. The lower, the darker. 5 % is as dark as you can go with tint.

Thanks for everybody's thoughts. I had 20% on my IS but had to take it off for the PO PO, so i was wondering...maybe i should go with 5 % this time.

Thanks alot..i think i will go with 5.

So you got in trouble with 20%...now your going darker? If your state is that stricted on window tint, why would you go darker than you had? I feel your pain though becasue I love my dark tint......

In my opinion I think 5% is just way too dark. I went with 20 and thought that was borderline. I usually go with 35 but wanted a bit darker.

5 is just asking to be pulled over. Plus you make things harder for yourself at night. I also think it doesn't look that great when the car is that dark. Maybe on a black on black car. But any other color I think the contrast is too much. But that's just me.

I have a black IS with 5% and I love the look of it. I also have black interior and out in this AZ heat/hell, the 5% really keeps the cabin a lot cooler (well it keeps out as much sunlight as possible). But it is definitely hard to see at night. In AZ (at least Tucson), they don't believe in street lights in a lot of places. Sometimes when I'm making turns, I have to roll (ol school terminology cause the IS is all power Baby) the window down just to make sure I don't hit a curb or turn into the wrong lane. It takes some adjusting but......you'll get used to it. Black cars make 5% look even darker though. You will enjoy how smooth it makes your car look. I haven't had an issue with the cops yet (knocks on wood). When I initially got the tint, I would roll my windows down anytime I saw the cops coming. After awhile, I just stopped doing it and haven't been stopped yet. It's going on a year now so........hopefully I won't ever have to peel it off.
