Key Fob Confirmed Waterproof
I took my son to swim lessons tonight, and you can guess the rest. I was in there for about 5 minutes before I realized the key fob was in my pocket. I put it on the side of the pool, and it worked fine afterwards.
Just to be safe, I took the emergency key out, and I'm airing it out over night. I'm impressed...thought sure it would be toast after being submerged for awhile.
First person to take the fob over Niagara Falls in a barrel wins a prize.

someone left it in the washer before... there was a thread. and i think ISbb opened it up to show us there was some kind of film(plastic?) covering everything inside for that reason.

I remember reading that you can get a GORE-TEX cert for just about any fabaric, shoe, etc. you make. I can't find the article, but It includes something like drowing the item in water and stuff for long long long hours. Maybe someone should make their own test.... I suggest drowing their key in a bucket of water for 48 hours
Then we'll have a better idea of waterproof or resistant.
