Default $50 more for IS tint?!?!

Anyone else experiencing tinting places charging $50 more for tinting an IS250 or 350?

I've gotten a couple excuses:

-Something to do with the door locks messing up
-Speakers near front windows make the labor more difficult

I live in Orange County, CA. Just checking to see if anyone else is getting this.

Yeah I haven't gotten them tinted yet. I called a couple of the places that came up using the search function but those were the one's telling me the IS250 and 350 cost more to tint. They are saying anywhere from the $270-$300 range. Any other recommendations in Orange County?

Im not familar with Cali. but when I got my IS retinted a month ago it cost me $235 in all and thats including striping the old tint. Just make sure you shop around and if there is a price that seems to good to be true then avoid it.

MAN ya'll are paying 200+???? I got my IS300 tinted in 2003 limo all around except front for $100. I'm dropping my 350 sometime soon at the same place and getting it done for $120. And before anyone bashes the job or tint quailty all I know is I never had any peeling or discoloration problems with the old one at all.. Maybe there are different grades of actual film?? My family does get a hookup with the dude due to the number of cars he has done for us tho

California Tint is a very good place for a good job at a great price. I have known those guys for years and years. Nothing but good experiences.

But this time around, I wanted something else..I wanted a specific brand name tint.

So I went to Songs Tint Masters in KTown. Paid more obviously, but a great job it is!

Why did you want a specific brand tint?

Perfect Window Tint in Santa Ana/Costa Mesa- (714) 546-1002. Ask for Salvador.
He's got 20 years of experience in the industry and is one of the few people in the area that offer the Huper Optik ceramic film. Just had my IS 250 done with Madigo Charcool 55% all-around including the windshield for $300. Originally wanted to go with Huper Optik but I couldn't justify spending $600 on a tint.

The low position of the back window and speakers in front of the front windows do make the car harder than normal to tint. My installer wanted $25 extra, and I had no disagreements.

the installer may need to remove the front door panel in order to get the tint behind the tweeters... that could be a reason behind the extra cost.

i got mine done at song's tint masters in ktown. VERY happy with the install and the tint. i got ceramic tint.. paid a premium but can't beat the performance! i was thinking of going to cali tint but they don't carry ceramic.

Hey Thomas never heard back from you regarding the oil change stuff. anyways, went to tusin lexus for the srvice. Anyways, regarding tint, I recommend Alpha Tint in Stanton. I got my windows tinted there. I got 3M
but you can get them cheaper by getting johnson's film.

11793 Beach Blvd. #A
Stanton, CA. 90680
714-379-2880 ask for yong.

Also, alot of folks here went to Alpha tint to install HIDs aswell.

* I need the A/C filter changed... can u sell me one? :P

Anyways, good luck!
