Default 07 Navi ASL Problem

I did a quick search, but it didn't turn up anything... but I'm pretty sure this problem can't be unique.

ASL works fine when I accelerate and cruise, but when I brake sometimes, not even from a high-speed, it adjusts the volume to a point that's it almost hurts my ears. I usually listen at 16~20 depending on road conditions, but when I'm deaccelerating, the ASL is actually making the sound LOUDER. On the highway, with wind noise, at the same volume it's fine. ASL doesn't adjust it that high.

I don't want to reset my Navi now because I got addresses and stuff inside, but if anyone else has or solved this problem, I would like some assistance >.<

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the ASL indicator has 5 blocks.

On the highway, it's usually 3~4 when there's a lot of road noise.

When I'm breaking sometimes, though, it's more quiet, but the thing is going to 4~5.... I sounds the equivalent of adding like 5 levels...

I think the manual says it kicks in only at 50mph. I tested mine, and see it changing the bar graph, so it appears to be working, but I can't actually hear the difference. Yours seems to work TOO well.

Wow... I was just wondering this today I turned the ASL on and off while driving and could not hear any differences, I saw the bar go from none to 2 and 3 at times and never really noticed any sound increase?! In my dads suburban it has the same concept but WOW you can really tell the difference in sound and it has adjustable intensity, maybe its just so subtle that you cant notice it but yet it still helps?? Not sure! haha

I could tell the difference in my IS, but it's not that noticeable. Maybe you should bring your car into the dealer and have them check that out. It shouldn't be changing that dramatically.

My ears can be sensitive, and I'm sure it doesn't only increase after 50mph, unless I so sensitive I'm hearing things that aren't there.

All kidding aside though, even when I'm braking from under 40mph, it still get's louder. ASL isn't very noticable on the highway with all the road noise, but it definantely is louder. On the way home today it's hovered at 3/5. And when it screws up when braking, it's 4/5. It just happens maybe once a week, so many it's like IS350 Navi PMS, but still it felt like it was killing my ear drums those times.

I'm pretty sure the first thing they will try at the dealership is reset it, so I was hoping to see if anyone else had the same problem. I guess I'll just have to back everything up and hope for the best.

Oh btw, I HAD modified the bluetooth mic sensitivity on the hidden menu by +1 or +2, but it specifically said handfree mic or something... so it doesn't make sense.
