Default IS 350 Purchase Proposal

I have been talking to the Internet Sale guy from my local dealer. He has a Lexus Executive Vehicle (basically a car that one of the dealership executives has put some miles on) that has almost all the options I want. It has 848 miles on it and it has never been titled.

Here are the details...

The MSRP on this vehicle is $46,151 and he is willing to let me have it for $41,900.

So I ask you all... DEAL OR NO DEAL???

PS: I can also add the ISP Wheels for $1,375 as the car already has them on there but I have the option to remove them as well. The $1,375 would be in addition to the $41,900.

    Thanks for your opinions guys!!!

Personally, I'd pay a bit more for a new one. An "executive" car was probably used for test drives, where people do stupid things like redlining your brand new car before the engine has had a chance to warm up. No deal.

very true, they like to call it "executive car" instead of DEMO car. The deal isn't that great either for a USED car, I paid 44.9K OTD with all the options listed in my sig.

i agree, i would call it a used car. That is what it is for all intents and purposes.......
    USED.
I bought a certified preowned v6 accord two years ago and it was a "dealer car" so i know it was a loaner or what not, they gave me a 100,000k extended warranty on the transmission and motor, and added a (i think) another 30k to the factory bumper to bumper warranty at no cost since i was willing to buy the car.

so unless they have some sort of incentive such as a extended warranty, or tossed in some free maintance and or the rims......you are buyin a "used" car where at least 50 "so called executives" used it and probably abused it.

no deal, buy a new one.

NO DEAL. I think you can get them down a bit more, perhaps you can get them to toss in the wheels at the $41.9K. Good luck!

If they throw in the ISP Modes, take the deal... Otherwise, no deal.. walk away... Don't budge one inch... Make that your FINAL offer...

I was just thinking the same thing... I sent him an email and told him that they would need to throw in the ISP's for that price or give it to me right near cost since the dealership did get some use out of it.

Now it is only 800 miles and since I always get rid of my cars before or when the warranty runs out, it should not be a big deal.

    Let's see what he says.

OK... he told me he was already at cost. I told him he was lying and gave him cost numbers excluding any dealer hold backs.

I told him that if he wanted to earn my business that he would have to get closer to $40,500 with the ISP's or $39,200 w/o the ISP's. I informed him that the internet has made us wiser and that I obtained my information from Edmunds and KBB.

    Let's see what happens now.

I would never buy any demo/executive/celebrity (or whatever they want to call it) driven vehicle. They are almost always abused since the people using them know they are not going to purchase it. Spend a few more bucks and get a new one. After all, there is nothing quite like new. That goes for everything.

    HAHAHA, I like that!

I would get it they threw in the wheels since you trade your car in before the warranty runs out, or go for $39K

Well I have not heard back from him... maybe I insulted him by telling him he was wrong about the dealer cost. LOL

Anyway... maybe I will hear from him in the next couple of days. If not, I will find another dealership to deal with.
