because when i stop to pick someone up i need to click the unlock button. I'm not worried about falling out of the car or anyone getting in while i'm driving.
I'm assuming it's an anti-car jacking feature more than a falling out safety feature. Sometimes I hate the cars that do it, other times I really like the feature.
Sorry that doesn't help, but I'd see if that is an option the dealership can change in the personalized settings.
Yes, you can set it so that it auto-locks after 25mph or something rather than right as you shift out of Park. It's a Lexus Personalized Setting. I'm not sure if you can have it set so that it never locks, though.
But in an automatic, it won't let you open the doors with the car in drive and the parking brake off. It will release the latch, but there's an interlock that prevents you from opening the door.
No, it means if you unlock the doors but don't open them (say you accidentally pressed the button on the fob while in range but didn't realise it) then the doors automatically relock themselves.
There is no autolocking feature available with the standard kit.
