I searched and could not find anything for the Smart Key.

I searched:
"smart key program"
"key program"
"smart key programming"

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure ISbb is mistaken. Someone with TIS access can confirm, but I believe that not only does one need to connect a factory scan tool, but there is also a challenge/response step to the procedure that necessitates that the dealer call Lexus, read off the number displayed on the scan tool, and then enter the number that Lexus gives them.

it was about the keys doesn't detect by the car and the start button dosen't turn green even the key is in place so the dealer suggest he/she put both smartkeys together and do something like "re-connect" or something like that... I don't know pls forgive me if I mistaken the post...

Where can you find these used keys? I just lost one of my keys and I don't have a backup. I don't want to get caught without a key if someday I lose the only one I have.

Keep your eyes on eBay. There are none out there now, but they come up from time to time. Here is a completed auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...spagenameZWDVW

You can order factory brand new Lexus remote smart keys from: www.autotransponder.com. My Lexus dealer wanted $250.00 for a key, I bought a factory new one for $97.00 including shipping. I will have to take it to a key shop that can cut the back up key inside. Be careful buying one on Ebay, for the cut key will not fit your car. I am searching to find out how to program the smart key. Found instructions for a 2004 LS430, but mine is a 2005 LS430. Not sure if it will work. I hate to pay the dealer $60.00 for something that will take less than 5 minute tops!

Looks like $148 to me for the car this forum is actually for:
http://www.autotransponder.com/2008_..._entry_remotes

Sewell only charges $127.50

Both are without a physical key though... Sewell get $54.73 for a key cut to your VIN... your place gets $57 for a cut key.

Dunno about programming for your car, but the 2IS you'll need a techstream II device, so you'd likely be paying a dealer the $60

I'm not sure about used but a new smart card is just like adding a key FOB. I paid $42 to get it programmed last week.

Definitely takes a scan tool to add the key. You only have to connect to lexus and get the codes when all keys are lost fyi

I took my new key to a local locksmith who had to cut it by hand. Charged $15.00. Then took it to the Dealer who programmed it for $55.00, and now it works great!

Strongly recommend buying New Lexus Smart keys from them. Saved over $150.00's by purchasing new OEM key fob verses buying directly from the dealer.

FYI- must use dealer to program smart key fob, for they have to scan in t the "bar code".

Fyi- I forgot to mention, very few Lexus dealers can cut your new key fob. They recommended a local locksmith.

As I mentioned, for the 2IS a new fob is only $127.50 from Sewell, who is a dealer.... versus $148 from the site you recommended. Just because your dealer was insanely overpriced for parts doesn't mean everyone is.

Sewell was also ~$3 less than your site for a cut key for the 2IS
