Default Max tire size

I am looking at some 19"x8 O.Z. rims. What is the biggest I can go on the tires? 245/35/19 or bigger?

so i guess that means a non-staggered setup? do you have an AWD 250? you probably won't wanna go more than 245/35 on the front for 19". i think very few people have had minor rubbing with 245s on the front. have you lowered your car yet?

RWD with Stock suspension. No plans to lower. What is purpose of staggered set-up? Can I go bigger than 245/35/19?

well i think if you have rwd, its staggered. from the aftermarket wheel thread,
17" RWD:
Front: 225/45/17, 17x8 +45mm
Rear: 245/45/17, 17x8, +45mm

18" RWD :
Front: 225/40/18, 18x8, +45mm
Rear: 255/40/18, 18x8.5, +50mm

try there to see what people are using...

personally, with a lowered setup i'd go 235 max up front and 275 max on the rears. since yours isn't/won't be lowered, you can probably go 245 up front. i'd still not go more than 275 in the rear. i think this will work so you won't have to roll the fenders or anything.

Any idea if the stock IS300 17inch rim could fit on an IS350? I need a winter set of rims/tires!

i think they do. they should have the same bolt pattern, so they should fit. joez had/has the new GS300 wheels on his IS300. if you're wondering where i'm going with this, its that most lexus wheels in similar categories (GS/IS) should have the same bolt patterns and if the rim has the right bolt pattern for the car, it will fit.

just double-check that the IS300 rims are a 114.3 bolt pattern and you'll be set!

Thx a bunch, now for the "mandatory stagger" do you think it's really critical? I've been told that the IS350's computer MUST see a wider total diameter in the rear for the ABS etc to work? Of course the IS300 rims are the same size all around. Think I might be able to make this work?

DJ, regarding your question, I would definitely go here to see what they suggest fits:

I'd be careful with that - although the bolt pattern is 5x144.3, remember you have some pretty beefy brakes to clear in the front

Yeah, it's probably not a reality. Is there anyway to measure clearance on that, with someone who has the rim? Or is putting it on my car really my only option?
I may just start a thread on this. Cuz it's killing me not to know.
