Vredestein Wintrac Extreme
Anyone run this winter tire? Supposedly it is supposed to be the cream of the crop.
Thinking about running
225/45/18 front
245/45/28 rear
Thoughts on these tires? Anyone have any experience with them?

First. Ultracs are not comparable to the Wintrac Extreme.
And the Wintrac Extreme got higher ratings than the Icebear W300.
Supposedly, the Wintrac Extreme are one of the quietest winter tires available. They got higher ratings than the Blizzak LM25, Michelin Winter Ice, Pirelli Winter Sport, and even the Nokian RSi's.

I would be interested in hearing about these.
My car has LM25s and that set up has been great for me.
In the past Vredstein snows were ok for pokey Volvos but not for speedy cars.
I love their bicycle tires and hope their car tires follow suit.

I am going to purchase these tires, probably on Friday. I won't put them on until late November but I'll be sure to give a review of them at the correct time.

I am buying them from Waukegan Tire and Supply in Waukegan, Illinois. They are charging me $197 for the fronts and $207 for the rears. Expensive but really not too much different than the LM-25's from Tirerack, but supposedly these blow the LM-25's out of the water (although the Blizzak's are supposed to be good). There aren't a lot of Vredestein dealers (only 2 in Chicagoland) so I called the next closest one which was in freaking Minnesapolis, MN. They wanted $302 for the fronts and $307 for the rears. Not sure why they wanted so much more.

This is the only one I have tried. Not sure how it works in the winter though since we have none.
