Default IPOD Cable for the NAV

Hello happy people,
I know that someone out there has an aswer to my problem.
I have an 06 IS350 with the ML audio and NAV. I've heard that there is an IPOD adaptor for the stereo so that I can control (and Charge) the IPOD from the touch screen. I went to pretty hi-end audio shop and they claim that the adaptors do not work and mess up thr electonics on the car. Has anyone found this to be true?? Has anyone found an adaptor and tired it??? I have this great car and this great IPOD and I want them to work togther in harmony!!! Can it be done???

Thank in advance.

The URL is http://www.vaistech.com/. The other one is Dice electronics http://www.diceelectronics.com/ipod_integration.htm.

I haven't bought one yet, but I'm considering the VaisTech unit. If you get it, be careful with the installation. Several people have had intermittant problems due to connection issues, apparently from routing the cables such that the plastic connectors were too close to the tranmission.

The Vais Tech solution is more than just a cable, it is a physical piece of hardware. It is fully compatible with the 2nd generation IS, both with and without navigation.
