Default 07 IS 350 Alarm Problem

The manual for my 07 IS 350 says that if you get out of the car and forget to lock the doors the car will lock and arm itself in 30 seconds. My car is not doing this. Anyone else with an 07 having this problem?

I read the same thing in the manual for my 2006 IS250 and it doesn't do that either... there have been a few times that I've forgotten to lock the car and it has been open all day!

Is that not a setting that can be enabled?

Then your guess would be wrong.

Mine certainly does not do that, thank god. I would hate to have my car decided for me if I forgot to lock my door or not. If I want it locked, I will tell it to do so. If I walk away from my car and wish it to remain unlocked, then I expect it to do so

You might be confusing that with this feature:
If you unlock the door(s) and do not open one within 30 seconds the door(s)
will relock automatically.

That's correct..... if you unlock the door and do not enter ther car it will relock in 30 seconds. If you open a door, it's up to you to lock the car.

Personally, I would want to lock automatically after i park and exit.....if my key is still in there, I would expect it not too lock of course....The convenience of not having to touch my key fob to enter is exactly what i want when i exit....but thats just me, I'm lazy and like little convenience things....
I hope there is something that can enable this functionality...

would you also like the car to conveniently turn off the engine when you park at home? maybe the car will know you're at home by using gps and when you go into your garage and stop, the engine will turn itself off, the car will open your door for you....
