Default 10K oil analysis...FYI

Ignore the IS300...whoever entered my customer data can't read all that well. Interval is also 5000 miles, not hours...someone started their Friday early in the lab.

I should also note that +95% of my mileage is highway driving. I drive 30K miles annually.

What a list! I think I'll switch to oil from my vitamin pills.

It certainly reads like a Centrum label, doesn't it? I imagine Centrum tastes better though.

I wonder what the TBN of the Mobil 1 5W-30 would be after 5K in the Toyota 2/4GR-FSE series engine?

Thanks for sharing. I did a UOA and TBN at my 5K oil change, and the results were similar.

car engines should be rated in hours anyways, every large piece of machinery is rated in hours

for a car that has many different engine speeds it could be in, a combination of hours and miles would be good, if you see a car with a lot of miles and less hours, you can easily tell thats a hwy car, or if a car has less miles but a lot of hours, thats a city driven car. Id rather have a hwy driven car over a city car (much more stress on mechanical parts in the city)

I'm sure it would be easy to install an hour guage, but I don't think that would be any more apropriate. I would rather have an engine cycle counter.

But the engine wears while running. Knowing how many cycles it has been cycled would be helpfull, but I would rather have that, odomenter, and hour guage.

Sounds like a lot of math

What I mean by an engine cycle counter is a counter of the number of piston revolutions.

combining that parameter with a hour of operation parameter you can figure an average engine speed, not sure how helpful that might be, if I went 100% hwy a t 2500 rpm that could look like city average engine speed, but then this is where mileage comes in

lol don;t forget to add these items too:

-Door opened and closed counter
-Device to measure the volume used on the radio
-Meter to record the number of revolution per tire (if one wheel is less could have been tracked or taken through twisties, oh noes!)
-System to measure octane to the 9th deciaml point before you gas up
-Sensor to detect if pasengers were carried to frequently

I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them because I'm not that ****.
