I just picked up my IS a couple of days ago and I was messing around with the nav system. I noticed that it didn't automatically go to night mode ( with the black background) when it was dark outside and the headlights were on. Is there an option for this somewhere or is this something they've removed?

 

check your interior dash/control cluster light strength. sometimes it is turned all the way up (you can tell if it's on the highest setting b/c it "clicks" into place). if turned all the way up, the nav will never go into night mode...

 

My salesperson showed this to me during the hour and a half of "features show and tell" when I picked up the car. Exactly as lexuslover says.

 

Worked perfectly guys. Thanks for the help, I would have never thought about that. Anyone know the steps to get into the service menu on the 07 nav systems? The top left top bottom bit doesn't work on them.
